Pauline Betty Whertley went home to be with her Lord & Savior on November 3, 2011.
She was born in Long Beach, CA on May 31, 1923 to John R. Ray and Adaline Francis Ray. Pauline married James Frank Whertley on November 19, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA just before he was deployed overseas. After the war Pauline & James moved back to Long Beach while he prepared for the ministry.
In 1953, the Whertley family moved to Watsonville where James became the pastor of The Full Gospel Church of Las Lomas. Pauline served faithfully by his side for 57 years until his retirement in 2010. From 1965 until 1985 she also worked as an escrow officer for Penniman Title Company.
Her favorite place to be was in her kitchen baking pies, cakes and cookies. She supplied beautiful and delicious desserts for many holiday and special dinners.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 68 years Rev. James F. Whertley. Her daughter Diane Walker and husband Noel and their Sons Rodney Walker, his wife Lydia and their son Solon; Gregory Walker and his wife Gina and their daughter Abagail; great-grandson Andrew Walker and his wife Nicolette, great-granddaughter Jessica Walker and great-grandson Nicholas Walker; Son Stephen Whertley and his wife Cynthia; grandson Aaron Whertley, his wife Kari and their daughter Lauren; granddaughter Rachel Eckstrom and her husband David and their
sons Jaden and David and daughter Trudy Rowe and her husband Guy.
After a private family graveside service a Memorial Service will be held at The Full Gospel Church of Las Lomas, 29 Willow Road, Watsonville, CA on November 9, 2011 at 11:30AM. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
